We had planned to make the trip up Mt. Etna by car early this
morning, but awoke to find heavy rain and a forecast for showers throughout
the day. Instead, we had a relaxing day strolling the streets of Taormina,
sitting in a café while serenaded by sidewalk musicians, reading and
playing cards. The sun 
came
out intermittently, enough to enjoy a wonderful lunch on a terrace overlooking
the ocean and another walk through the public garden. We also visited the
small archeological museum here but it took us much longer to find the museum
than it did to tour its two small rooms!
We hope to get an early start tomorrow, and with better weather will visit Mt. Etna on our way back to Palermo.
