A small Maasai "boma" that we approached during our hike to the Engaresero waterfall at Lake Natron. A boma is a small neighborhood made up of a few men and all their wives and children.

A Maasai house under construction. It is made of sticks and cow dung. Cow urine is used to help hold the dung together.

This is where the cattle are kept. It is a circular area surrounded by the individual homes. Fences are built using acacia trees and their sharp thorns.
